A downloadable game
This Action RPG prototype features a rich, diverse world of fantasy, magic, challenging enemies, and beautiful story centered around our main protagonist. After venturing with his Witch he returns to his home world which has been ravaged by corruption. He must discover the source of the corruption and restore peace and order. The vision of this game is story-driven, featuring Souls-like combat mechanics, where Compassion is the main currency.
My main responsibilities entailed leading a team of 8 professionals, consisting of artists, programmers, and a sound designer. As the lead I acted as our team's Producer and Lead Gameplay Programmer since I was also a contributing member of the Programming Team.
I am the programmer behind bringing the protagonist character to life, thanks to collaboration with the Art Team, Sound Designer, and Programmers.
Accomplishments:
- Created working draft of Game Design Document to help compile team's ideas and vision, including my own.
- Collaborate with Sound Engineer, and Art and Programming Teams into obtaining the necessary concept art, UI designs, audio, models, props, and character animations.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to programming team.
- Import animation assets for main player character and create animation state machines and blend spaces for locomotion.
- Design gameplay mechanics, such as Inventory, Save, and Stats systems.
- Design and implement Scalable Combat System used by main player character and later extended for enemy AI by another programmer. Added support for both melee-based weapon combat and projectile damage.
- Implemented damage types per attack type. For example, white crystals can be damaged with a specific type of magic attack.
- Implemented proof-of-concept dash and "shadow mode" mechanics.
- Implemented Footstep Mechanics using Niagara Footstep VFX, Custom Physical Materials and anim notifies. Game supports the following surfaces: grass, gravel (default), stone, wood, soft wood.
